Lake Metigoshe located 12miles northeast of Bottineau offers fishing (pike, perch, walleye, bullhead), fishing pier, boating, swimming, and skiing.

Strawberry Lake located along Highway 43 or 10 miles north and 5 ¾ miles west of Bottineau offers swimming and fishing (trout). Electric motors only.

Clark Salyer Game Refuge located 12 miles west and 15 miles south of Bottineau on Highway 14 offers canoeing on the Mouse River with trails varying in length from three to 13 miles. For the curious canoeists, the Mouse River system also contains several river oxbows worthy of exploration

Pelican Lake-Sandy Lake located 10 miles north and 5 ¾ miles east of Bottineau on Highway 43 offers boating and fishing (pike, some trout, perch and bullheads).

Long Lake one mile east of Bottineau, 11 miles north, 4 miles east, 1 mile south, 3 miles east, 1 mile south, 1 mile east (Pike, walleye, bluegill, perch, largemouth bass) aeration system.

Carbury Dam Recreation Area located 4 miles west, 4 miles north, 1 mile west of Bottineau offers boating for sailboats, rowboats, canoes, and boats with motors 10 H.P. or less, fishing (trout, perch, bluegill, walleye), and swimming.
